Being a watcher in a game
Hey Guys!

I really hate that people just be in games so that they can watch. Then they get kicked out of the game for being inactive. Now, mostly on some games in different games like the Mario Party 1,2, and 3, and the Backyard Sports on my PC. It makes it quite difficult that people are away from Keyboard(AFK). So now about this suggestion.
Why not have a type of mode in the lobby before the game starts? It will be called "Specataor mode". The reason why is because if you are tired of playing in games, you can have the button right beside you.

Tell me what you think of this suggestion.

RE: Being a watcher in a game
..., this is the thousandth time this has been suggested, and while I'd love for this to happen, its been shot down time and time again, so I wouldn't count on it. It'd be cool to watch matches you didn't want to lose though Smiley_Wink

It's not that I fear in my own self-confidence, it's that the others fear in it.

Spectate mode would be a good mode for BEO2 Smiley_Smile Smiley_ThumbsUp

if you want to watch a game, make a 1v1v1 and just skip your turn and let the other two go at it. (nice handy thing to use if you are testing members of a clan).
Or you could just have someone record it.

RE: Being a watcher in a game
Here's why it wouldn't work:

Let's take a simple 1v1 and use it as the example. Only 2 people in the lobby, but then you get a spectator...then another, and another. Before long, you're at 6 people watching a match. This would create a huge drag on the system because these extra people could cause the game to glitch out excessively or to lag out completely and disconnect everyone from the lobby.

This essentially turns everything into a 3v3 by letting people just sit in the lobby "to watch". Then you run into the problem of someone leaving the game, with all those people watching, who gets to fill the spot? Or does anyone get to fill it? That's ultimately why it won't work, no way to monitor everything and all the negative "what if"'s that far out-weigh the positives.

along those same lines tenchi, if even one of those spectators that joined the game to watch had lag, it would give everyone playing lag. Likewise, that little issue when someone with lag leaves a game and it freezes up and everyone else starts to DC. (which is basically what you said)
