"Strong Vault". Recognize that? If you do, please continue.
Hearing Strong Vault should give you the shivers. Most likely, you got it from SuperRewards, or some other SuperReward type site, as it downloads with the apps.
Note: Any game app that looks photoshopped, low quality, claims to be 100% secure (which, why would they need to say that?), not game related (the Batman game app is a movie, not a game), etc., will most likely contain viruses such as Trojan Horse, Adware, Malware, and Strong Vault.
This "application" is a very tricky and stealthy one.
Strong Vault is a malware. Although it is not a "virus", it is a malware style application. It will download into your computer, as well as other apps, such as "Wajam" and "Yontoo". Research the additional applications to identify which app is needed to be deleted.
When deleting Strong Vault, a secondary, "StrongVault Online Backup" will appear. This one cannot be deleted.
This app seem harmless, at first. If left untreated, it will gradually become more and more stronger, and at the end, may completely harm your computer.
This malware seem to take information, such as internet history, downloads, etc. At first, it does not do anything with them, but later on, it will start to send it out. I am not 100% sure what happens, but am aware of a similar situation.
This is when your computer is hijacked, and may steal your money.
Now, when you see Strong Vault on your computer, you think of hijackers, personal information stolen, your computer taken over. But there's hope.
It is NECESSARY to delete this malware, and MUST BE DONE.
Follow the steps below:
1) Click on the link:http://support.microsoft.com/m….._uninstall (please bookmark this, just in case)
2) Click on "Run now".
3) Click on "RUN"
4) Once it is loaded, click "Accept".
5) "Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter" 2 options will appear, click on "detect problems and apply fixes", which is the recommended selection.
6) It will load, you will be asked: "Are you having a problem installing or uninstalling a program?" Click on "uninstalling a program."
7) A list appears, and within that list, search for Strong Vault Online Backup and any other applications necessary to be deleted.
8) It loads. After that, click "Problems Uninstalling", request it to be deleted, and your problem should be solved.
If this does not solve the problem, call an expert technician, or if short on cash, or if you're a child and does not want your parents to know, search for more technical help. Most likely for it not being solved is that you must have had it for a lengthy period of time, weak anti-virus, or anything that effects the issue.
However, do not hesitate to notify your parents. It was completely accidental, and the knowledge of this malware sneaking into your computer was absent, and nothing could have helped.
Parents, if your child had notified you about this situation, please excuse them. Most likely, they have learned their lesson, and wasting time on them will not help the computer. Time is ticking. Find a solution and get it done.
EDIT: IF YOU WISH to use SuperRewards for free credits, please be careful for some offers.
Usually, the offers that rewards little credits (below 15) are safe; however, do not think of that as a fact. There is not telling whether a site is safe or not unless it is scanned, but scanners cannot detect all viruses sometimes.
Also, sites that does not require downloading are much safer than the ones that does, and is certain that StrongVault will not be downloaded, as no application is being downloaded for it to download with it.
Sites that claims to be "100% safe & secure" are usually the ones that are 0% safe & secure. There is no reason to announce it's security, unless if it has a direct relationship to it, as this one gives out viruses.
Use common sense, and your computer will be safe.
PM me at [email protected] if you received Strong Vault and possibly lost cash from it.
